There is an abundance of taxis in JB. However, a word of caution regarding taxi-drivers who refuse to charge in accordance to their meters. For most locations within JB, the meter charge should not exceed RM 5 so before getting into the taxi, do ensure that you settle the price with the driver and the price should not exceed RM 5 by too much.

Near the most happening shopping complex :City Square. Must try : Portuguese Chicken & House of Sundanese. At night, walk out of City Square and cross the road to a busy night market. There's lots of food stalls. Must try : The fried oyster stall at the end of the stretch of stalls. Note: Only sit at the table near to the stall that you're patronising. The hawkers are not going to be friendly to you if you use their tables and feast on their neighbour's food. Note: Never leave your money/loose change on your table unless you're prepared to give it to the beggers. Some can be pretty persistant but it's up to you to decide if you wanna give.

Nice city JB. Sometimes (in the weekend) a little bit crowded. You can spend here a 2/3 days without getting bored. If you love shopping add a few days. It is great to make a daytrip to Singapore. If you have several options: do not go to Singapore in Friday or Saturday(one big traffic jam).

I booked this hotel because it had a spa.I have one day off a week and had planned this trip days before.I even arrived on the same night I finished work..02.30am Sat. When I checked in I asked the receptionist what time the spa opened and if I could reserve a time for treatment. She said that there was no need to reserve just turn up after 2pm.Sunday 2pm I arrive to find that the spa treatments were reserved for LADIES ONLY. When I enquired about this to the receptionist on duty, stressing that the spa was the reason for my trip..she asked if she could help me and gave me the address to a watsons pharmacy so I could buy my facial creams(she had no idea what I was talking about and the concept of a man having a facial, pedicure and manicure was alien to her and the staff at the spa)My weekend was ruined.. Sunny the duty manager tried to Organise a facial treatment for me or a complimentary one night stay.I opted for the latter. It was too little too late. I checked out that same day and when I was checking out,the same receptionist of the night before charged me for 1 and a half days stay..I was too exhausted to fight. I left the hotel very tired having spent more than I had planned and vowing never to go there again.
